Wood Carving Workshop
Wood Carving Workshop, Stepney Green City Farm Workshop
I arrived
at Stepney Green City Farm early, already knowing the place from a friend who works
there. There were Bells going off in the near distance. It was the first sunny day of the year and I got right into it. I wealded an axe for the second one,
which wasn’t already hewn- the first one was a rough cut-out. After the Workshop, I’d produced two spoons, for
cooking- one with a slight angle for Sautėeing.
It turned out the Church that
the ringing bells were coming from was, church of St.Clements where the nursery rhume 'Oranges and lemons Say the bells of St.
Clements,' originated, I learnt this from an actor, Steve, who had also arrived early and
was also on the Workshop. By the end I was tired, rearing to go home, though decided
spontaneously to ride the Elizabeth line (for the first time), and got off at
Stratford.
Top tip I always have (corn) plastic spoons in my handbag for
impromptu picnics, or just to give a friend if they need it for their child:
these are disposable ones I get from ready meals. Wooden ones are also nice to carry around.
