La Fauxmagerie Brick Lane
Taste Comparison Yogan Organic Almond Cheese & Almond Butter to regular Cheese and Butter
@La Fauxmagerie Brick Lane
Went to Plant Based Cheesemonger 'La Fauxmagerie' in Brick Lane and I have to say I was pretty impressed with what they had on offer.
Building up to the holiday season this relatively new shop, relocated from Brixton, is bustling with people and usually there is a queue spanning from Brick Lane to it's location on Cheshire street.
I came away with a Cashew fermented Vegan Cheese that was with Cracked black Pepper. I have experimented with making my own Cashew Vegan Cheeses, though this was much better than my own attempt and tastes superior to real cheese.
Yogan is a new line of Organic Cheezes or Butters and I did a taste comparison with their Almond (meltable) Butter, now widely available.
The Butter smells sort of fermented and with its coconut oil component it manages to melt slightly at room temperature. I found it melted nicely on Toast and tasted like butter, though butter tastes a bit nicer as it's creamier.
The Yogan Organic Almond (meltable) Butter looks like real butter when a knob is placed in a frying pan for sautéing. I was pleased with its Buttery like texture (it comes in a 120g block). Their Yogan Vegan Organic Mozzarella Cheese, Plain, is also a great product and popular with my taste buds (it comes in a 100g dome).
